Meet in the pavilion at Helen C. Fenske Visitor Center, 32 Pleasant Plains Road, Harding Township.

Learn about woodcock, why Great Swamp NWR is ideal habitat for these special birds and to see Pete Axelrod’s famous demonstration of the male woodcock’s mating dance. Then join Pete for a short walk along Pleasant Plains Road to catch a glimpse of the courting display of woodcock at dusk.

Dress appropriately and bring a flashlight.
